Romuald Karmakar (born February 15, 1965) is a German film director and screenwriter. He was born in Wiesbaden as the son of an Indian father and a French mother. From 1977 to 1982 he lived in Athens. He won several awards, including the Bavarian Film Award for Best Screenplay. His film Deathmaker was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 1995.
